A live writing membership for people ready to stop writing alone

Your writing doesn’t need more pressure. It needs a place to happen.

Unchained Writer gives you a welcoming room, a focused hour, and a community that keeps showing up—so your good intentions finally become pages.

  • About 10 live sessions a week
  • Camera optional
  • Any kind of writing welcome
Hand-drawn notebook, coffee, timer and a laptop connecting writers, with a chain breaking above the desk

No critique. No camera. No performing.
Just writing.

01

From learning to doing

You probably don’t need another writing course.

You need a place to put what you’ve learned into practice.

Learning matters. But your next chapter needs more than another good idea. It needs time on the page—even when life is busy and inspiration is quiet.

From courses, notes and an untouched manuscript to a focused writer filling pages beside a timer
Learning about writingPutting it into practice

A time you protect.

Make writing an appointment you can keep, not the thing you’ll get to if there’s time.

A place to show up.

Enter the room, name your goal, and give your project one focused hour.

People alongside you.

Write beside people who understand why it matters. You don’t have to do this alone.

Turn “I should write today” into
“Look what I wrote today.”

One hour. Four simple moves.

Here’s what happens when you enter the writing room.

Bring your project.
We’ll bring the structure.

Choose a session

With about 10 live sessions each week—and at least one every day—you can find a time that fits real life.

00:02
2

Name your goal

Check in through Slack and decide what “done” looks like for this session: 500 words, one scene, one page, one stubborn paragraph.

00:05
3

Write for 60 focused minutes

Open the live room, turn off the noise, and write beside people who are doing the same. Your camera can stay off.

01:05
4

Share the win

Post your progress, let the momentum register, and leave knowing exactly how you’ll begin next time.

Can’t make it live? Use a replay or join a more informal Rogue session. The point isn’t perfect attendance. It’s protecting your writing time.

I’m a writer.
I write.

The shift

Consistency changes more than your word count.

At first, you’re simply trying to make time. Then the ritual gets easier. The unfinished pieces start moving. You know where to go when you feel stuck. And the story you’ve been carrying begins to look like a real body of work.

  • 01 Replace “I should be writing” with a time already on your calendar.
  • 02 Build momentum without waiting for motivation to arrive first.
  • 03 Feel part of a writing life—even if no one at home quite understands it.

From the writing room

What happens when writers stop trying to do this alone.

The pages add up. The habit takes hold.
And writing starts to feel like part of your life.

More words.
A much shorter timeframe.

Calendars illustrate the change in rhythm; they are not attendance records.

“Before joining, I was managing about 1,000 words a month. Now I’m writing at least 2,000 words every week.

This will feel like home if…

  • You have something you want to write, but struggle to make it consistent.
  • You work better when there’s a time to show up and other people are already there.
  • You want companionship and accountability without having to share or critique your work.

Looking for something else?

This may not be the right fit if…

  • You’re looking for a done-for-you writing service.
  • You want line-by-line feedback, editing, or a formal critique group.
  • You aren’t ready to protect even one focused hour for your project.

A note from Joseph

“I built the room I wished every writer had.”

Most writers don’t stop because they ran out of ideas. They stop because writing keeps getting asked to compete with everything else—and it keeps losing.

Unchained Writer is a simple answer to that problem: a room that’s ready, a clock that’s running, and people beside you who understand why the work matters. You don’t have to prove anything. You only have to show up and begin.

Still wondering about something? Email support@unchainedwriter.com.

01Do I have to be on camera?

No. Your camera can stay off, and you never have to share your screen or your writing. The room is there to support the work—not put you on display.

02What if I can’t attend live?

Use a session replay whenever it fits your day, or join a Rogue session for a more informal writing block. Live is powerful, but flexibility is built in.

03How often are live sessions available?

There are about 10 live writing sessions each week, with at least one opportunity every day. The exact schedule lives inside the member area.

04Do I need to be writing a book?

Not at all. Members work on novels, memoirs, blog posts, devotionals, newsletters, courses, scripts, client projects, and more. If it needs words, you can bring it.

05Will anyone critique or edit my writing?

No. Unchained Writer is an accountability and writing environment, not a critique group or editing service. You decide what stays private.

06What happens after the 7-day trial?

Your membership continues at $27 every 30 days unless you cancel. You keep access to the live sessions, replays, Slack community, coaching, and member resources.

07How do I cancel?

You can cancel anytime through the billing portal or by emailing support. Cancellation stops future renewals.
